Design | Paul Rand Retrospect /
For any designer reading this Paul Rand is one of those names that should need no introduction. For the rest of you, Paul Rand is an iconic American designer who has designed most of the logos for the largest corporations you know today. A lot of my favorite creatives are people who cross genres, people who do design inspired by art, or art inspired by design, etc. Please enjoy this short video I found about Paul Rand's work. Fun Fact: later in his life Paul designed children's books with his wife which to this day are some of the coolest designed children's books in the market.

Art | Wayne White at Joshua Liner Gallery /
Wayne White is an American artist, puppeteer, illustrator, art director and much more. In 1986, Wayne became a designer for the hit television show Pee-wee’s Playhouse which went on to win 3 Emmy's. About 5 years ago a friend of mine came across some of his word paintings in Los Angeles and I have been checking heavily for him ever since. "Invisible Ruler" is the name of his first solo show in NYC at Joshua Liner gallery. It showed a wide variety of skill set ranging from plays on classic american fine art to watercolor illustrations and a giant sculpture installation of the Louvin brothers. This was in my opinion the best solo show I've seen in NYC in 2014. Congrats Wayne, and thank you for all your hard work.
Art | Cleon Peterson /
Cleon Peterson is one of my favorite current American artists. while his choice of subject matter is always chaotic, his balance between positive and negative often creates perfect balance that make even scenes of war or riots beautiful.
His 2 new prints are available here for $250.
Art | Tomoo Gokita at Mary Boone gallery /
Tomoo Gokita's work combines fashion, portrait style photography and abstract design merged into one to create an aesthetic all of his own. These large scale black and white paintings have a feeling of old meets new, replacing certain sections with patterned designs, or abstracting completely into a more minimal geometric style. Now showing at Mary Boone gallery.
